NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND JOINT SPECIAL MEETINGS

Township of Nether Providence

Township of Upper Providence

 

            NOTICE IS GIVEN that a public hearing and joint special meetings of the Boroughs of Media, Rose Valley, Rutledge, and Swarthmore, and the Townships of Nether Providence and Upper Providence, each in Delaware County, will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at the Strath Haven Middle School, located at 200 South Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19086, regarding the proposed incorporation of a joint municipality authority to administer emergency medical services on behalf of the above municipalities. Notice and conduct of this hearing is a requirement under the Pennsylvania Municipality Authorities Act, 53 Pa.C.S. Ch. 56 in order for the above municipalities to consider an ordinance for enactment at the joint special meetings immediately following the public hearing, which ordinance contains the substantial form of the following caption:

 

SIGNIFYING THE INTENTION AND DESIRE OF THIS MUNICIPALITY TO ORGANIZE AN AUTHORITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADMINISTERING EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES ON BEHALF OF THIS MUNICIPALITY UNDER THE PENNSYLVANIA MUNICIPALITY AUTHORITIES ACT JOINTLY TO INCLUDE THE BOROUGHS OF MEDIA, ROSE VALLEY, RUTLEDGE, AND SWARTHMORE, AND THE TOWNSHIPS OF NETHER PROVIDENCE AND UPPER PROVIDENCE, EACH IN DELAWARE COUNTY; DESIGNATING THE ENTIRETY OF THIS MUNICIPALITY AS A SERVICE DISTRICT OF THE AUTHORITY; SETTING FORTH AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION; APPOINTING AND FIXING THE TERM OF THE FIRST MEMBERS OF THE BOARD APPOINTED BY THIS MUNICIPALITY; AND TAKING ALL OTHER NECESSARY ACTION.

 

A copy of the proposed ordinance for each of the above municipalities may be examined at the offices of The Delaware County Daily Times, located at 390 Eagleview Blvd., Exton, PA, and at 301 N. Jackson St., Media, PA, with respect to the Media Borough ordinance, at 9 Old Mill Lane, Rose Valley, PA, with respect to the Rose Valley Borough ordinance, at 212 Unity Terrace, Rutledge, PA, with respect to the Rutledge Borough ordinance, at 121 Park Ave., Swarthmore, PA, with respect to the Swarthmore Borough ordinance, at 214 Sykes Lane, Wallingford, PA, with respect to the Nether Providence Township ordinance, and at 935 N. Providence Road, Media, PA, with respect to the Upper Providence Township ordinance, all during regular business hours of the above municipalities.
