Police Officer Examination

The Civil Service Commission for the Township of Nether Providence will be administering an entry level examination for the position of Police Officer.

Nether Providence Township is located in Southeastern Pennsylvania and has a population of 13,706. The Nether Providence Police Department currently has 15 full-time officers, 1 part-time officer and  an Administrative Assistant.

Entry level applicants/candidates shall possess at the time of application a High School Diploma or equivalent, have successfully completed ACT 120 training and be immediately eligible for certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission.  Every applicant for the position of Police Officer shall be a United States citizen, be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer and possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the time of filing the application.

Test applications for the position of Entry Level Police Officer are available during regular business hours (8:30am-4:00pm Monday thru Friday) at the Nether Providence Police Department, 214 Sykes Lane, Wallingford, Pennsylvania 19086.

Interested applicants may obtain an application for the position beginning on Monday, January 6, 2020.  Applications must be returned to the Police Department by Friday February 7, 2020 @ 4:00pm with a non-refundable fee in the amount of fifty ($50.00) dollars per application.  Payment must be in the form of a check or money order payable to: “Township of Nether Providence.”

The Township Offices will be closed on March 29th. However, tax payments can still be dropped off through the mail slot. Please include a stamped and addressed envelope if you would like a receipt.
