American Rescue Plan Act Funding

Nether Providence has been allocated $1.4 million in funding through the American Rescue Plan Act. The Board of Commissioners is considering possible uses of the funds. The Federal Government has placed strict limitations in how the funds can be used, but some of the eligible uses can be found below:

Eligible Projects

  • Water projects – treatment, transmission, and distribution of water, source rehabilitation and decontamination, storage, consolidation, and new systems development.
  • Sewer projects – construction of publicly owned treatment works, nonpoint source pollution management, national estuary program projects, decentralized wastewater treatment systems, stormwater systems, water conservation, technical assistance to ensure compliance with the Clean Water Act.
  • Broadband infrastructure – projects to serve unserved or underserved households and businesses.
  • Cybersecurity – modernization of cybersecurity, including hardware, software, and protection of critical infrastructure up to the amount of revenue lost due to the public health emergency.
  • Essential Worker Pay
  • Contributions to small business or nonprofits (501 c(3))

INELIGIBLE PROJECTS include:

  • road resurfacing
  • sidewalks
  • park improvements
  • tax reductions
  • adding to fund balance
