Yard Waste Pick-Ups Temporarily Suspended Due To COVID-19
We are sad to report that several Nether Providence Township Public Works employees are presumptive positives for COVID-19. Given the limited staff and in the interest of increased physical distancing, the Township is suspending all yard waste pickups, effective immediately. For the duration of our declaration of a state of emergency, Public Works services will be limited to only essential tasks and those that can be done by individual employees without coming into contact with residents or each other. Yard waste pickup requires the employees to work in close proximity in order to lift the heavier bags and bundles. That proximity easily can spread the virus.
A reminder that on March 12 the Township suspended all yard waste drop off by residents at the Public Works facility. For now, please pile your yard waste together in your yard or driveway, not at the curb. The Township will resume yard waste pickup and drop off days when we have the employees to do so and it is safe to do so.
Nether Providence Public Works will continue mulch deliveries to residents’ homes (no pickup at the Public Works facility). That work is accomplished by a single employee. Please call Township Administration at 610-566-4516 to order a delivery. The cost to residents is $105 for a full truck-load of mulch and $65 for a half.
