All Delaware County HHW events run from 9 am to 3 pm . Brochures may be obtained from any municipal building or public library located in Delaware County or by calling The Delaware County Solid Waste Authority at 610-892-9627.

TYPICAL HHW INCLUDE:  Oil-Based Paint, Paint Thinner, Varnish, Kerosene, Gasoline, Motor Oil, Antifreeze, Weed Killer, Fungicides, Pesticides, Items containing Mercury, Propane Tanks weighing less than 20 lbs., Ni-Cad, Lithium, Rechargeable & Lead Acid Batteries, Cell Phones

***Latex Paint is not hazardous and is not accepted at these one day hazardous waste events.  Simply open the lid and let Latex Paint air dry.  Leave the lids off when placing out with your regular trash.

ELECTROINICS RECYCLING

Need a way to get rid of old electronics? The Township works with “Retrievr” to collect electronics. Note that Retrievr charges a fee for some items that require hazardous waste disposal, such as tube TV’s, microwaves, and small refrigerators. CELL PHONE RECYCLING
Always looking to improve and expand on what we can recycle, we will again this year accept cell phones at all our HHW Collection Events for recycling.  Cell phones may also be dropped off at the Solid Waste Authority’s office at the Hunt Club in Rose Tree Park, 1521 N. Providence Road, Media, PA 19063, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED AT A HHW COLLECTION EVENT
Medical Waste, Explosives, Unidentified Waste, Ammunition, Large Appliances, Radioactive Waste, Tires, Smoke detectors (return to manufacturer), Air conditioners

The public works garage will be open Saturday April 6th from 8-noon for residents to drop off yard waste. Limbs and branches must not be greater than 3-4" in diameter and no longer than 4'. They must be bundled together with twine. Residents can request pick up by calling 610-566-4516.
